Jin (진) of BTS (방탄소년단) has set a new personal record on the UK Official Charts with his solo work.
The title track 'Running Wild' from Jin's solo album 'Happy' debuted at No. 25 on the UK Official Singles Chart released on November 22 (local time). This marks Jin’s third solo entry on the chart, following 'I’ll Be There' and his 2022 single 'The Astronaut.' Notably, 'Running Wild' outperformed the previous rankings of 'I’ll Be There' (No. 44) and 'The Astronaut' (No. 61), earning Jin his highest solo position to date.
'Running Wild' topped the 'Singles Download' and 'Singles Sales' categories and ranked sixth in 'Physical Singles'. Meanwhile, the pre-release track 'I’ll Be There' maintained its presence for the fourth consecutive week, securing No. 71 and No. 81 in the 'Singles Download' and 'Singles Sales' charts, respectively. On the album charts, 'Happy' continued its success, ranking No. 2 in 'Album Downloads,' No. 19 in 'Album Sales,' and No. 17 in 'Physical Albums.'
Jimin's solo achievements also continued to shine. The title track 'Who' from his second solo album 'MUSE' ranked No. 5 in 'Singles Download,' No. 9 in 'Singles Sales,' No. 78 in 'Audio Streaming,' and No. 84 in 'Streaming,' demonstrating its widespread popularity. Impressively, Jimin has been charting on the Official Singles Chart for 18 consecutive weeks, breaking his own record for the longest solo entry by a BTS member.
Jin’s momentum carried over to Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. 'Running Wild' debuted at No. 10 on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart (tracking period: November 15–21). The album track 'Heart on the Window (with Wendy)' entered at No. 190, while 'I’ll Be There,' which has been on the chart for four weeks, surged 58 spots to reach No. 43. Other BTS members' solo tracks also maintained solid positions: Jimin's 'Who' at No. 5, V's 'Love Me Again' from his solo album 'Layover' at No. 86, and Jungkook's debut solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' at No. 88.
In the 'Weekly Top Albums Global' category, Jin’s 'Happy - :D (Remixes)' debuted at No. 8. Jimin’s 'MUSE' ranked No. 12, Jungkook’s solo album 'GOLDEN' placed No. 41, and BTS’s anthology album 'Proof' remained on the chart for its 128th week at No. 71.
Additionally, BTS’s music video for 'FAKE LOVE' surpassed 1.3 billion views on YouTube as of 9:20 PM on November 22. It is the group’s sixth music video to achieve this milestone. 'FAKE LOVE,' the title track of BTS’s third studio album 'LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’,' released on May 18, 2018, continues to resonate with fans worldwide.
The song narrates the realization of a false love mistaken as destiny. The music video stands out for its sleek and sophisticated visuals, showcasing the seven members' powerful performances against dazzling backdrops. The choreography, inspired by the global image of three monkeys symbolizing ignoring truth, leaves a lasting impression, portraying a boy’s struggle to confront reality.
