O membro do BTS (BTS), J-Hope (제이홉), deu início à sua turnê mundial com a 'j-hope Tour HOPE ON THE STAGE in SEOUL' (HOPE ON THE STAGE), realizada de 28 de fevereiro a 2 de março no KSPO DOME em Seul.
O nome do show significa minha determinação em mostrar tudo no palco. Assim como todos vocês sentem emoções diferentes, eu as expressarei todas no palco."
The section featuring tracks from his special album 'HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1' highlighted J-Hope's signature performance style. He showcased locking in 'lock / unlock (with benny blanco, Nile Rodgers),' house dance in 'i don't know (with Huh Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM),' and popping in 'i wonder... (with Jung Kook of BTS).' The fusion of his street dance roots with the music added an emotional depth to the performance.
A special moment came when J-Hope premiered his upcoming digital single 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel),' set for release on March 7. The audience responded by lighting up their phone flashlights in unison, creating a breathtaking scene. J-Hope shared, "I wondered if I had ever sung a proper love song before. So, I wanted to create a song that everyone could enjoy easily. This is a serenade dedicated to ARMY."
Throughout the concert, J-Hope captivated fans with dynamic stage arrangements. He showcased powerful rapping in '1 VERSE,' utilized a bridge stage for 'Airplane + Airplane pt.2,' and delivered a surprise backdrop performance in 'Daydream.' A BTS medley featuring 'MIC DROP,' 'Silver Spoon (뱁새),' and 'Dis-ease (병)' further ignited the crowd, with fans passionately singing along.
"Ten minutes before going on stage is the most nerve-wracking moment, but once I step onto the stage, all the nerves disappear. That’s because you are here," J-Hope told the audience. "I’m so proud of ARMY, and I want to show this incredible energy to the world. This Seoul concert was truly the best, everything was perfect. I will be back soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your cheers and support."
For the encore, J-Hope performed a new jack swing version of '= (equal sign),' 'Future,' and 'NEURON (with Gaeko, Yoon Mirae).' The final song, 'NEURON,' was accompanied by videos showcasing his past as a dancer and his BTS journey. Fans joined him in singing the heartfelt lyrics, "I'll tell you again / We'll never ever give up, forever / I'll say it again / We'll always be alive to move us," adding a deeper significance to the concert's finale.
'HOPE ON THE STAGE' was a reflection on J-Hope’s journey as a solo artist. The main stage, equipped with 25 lifts, created a striking visual impact. The lifts adjusted in height, formation, and graphics in real time, enhancing the performance’s immersive experience.
Following the Seoul concerts, J-Hope is set to embark on the North American leg of his tour. He will perform in Brooklyn on March 13-14, Chicago on March 17-18, Mexico City on March 22-23, San Antonio on March 26-27, Oakland on March 31-April 1, and Los Angeles on April 4 and 6. The tour will continue across Asia, with a total of 31 concerts in 15 cities.
