BTS (방탄소년단) member Jimin (지민) expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans after winning a grand prize at the '2024 MAMA Awards (MAMA AWARDS)' despite being in the midst of his military service.
On November 23, Jimin took to the global fan community Weverse, writing, "ARMY, I’m back here to share some truly amazing news. Thank you so much." Filled with emotion, he added, "I’m a soldier, but I’ve won a grand prize... How can you give me such a gift? I’m overwhelmed with gratitude."
Even while serving, Jimin has been keeping in touch with his fellow BTS members. "I’ve been talking a lot with Jungkook lately," he shared. "We’ve been excitedly discussing what kind of songs and performances we should prepare for you after I’m discharged." He humorously added, "And now, receiving such a huge award has left me even more stunned."
Jimin also made a special promise to fans, saying, "The best way to repay your love will be to give you the greatest performances when the time comes. It goes without saying, but I’ll come back stronger and show you an even better version of myself. Please look forward to it."
On November 22, Jimin was named the winner of the 'VISA Fans’ Choice of the Year' at the '2024 MAMA Awards' Chapter 1 event held at Japan’s Kyocera Dome in Osaka. This fan-voted award highlighted the immense support Jimin continues to receive from fans worldwide.
Currently fulfilling his military duty, Jimin released his solo album 'MUSE' in July, which he had prepared prior to enlisting. The album’s title track 'Who' enjoyed massive success, staying on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Chart Top 100 for 17 consecutive weeks.
Jimin’s heartfelt message deeply moved ARMY, reaffirming his unwavering love for fans and his lasting global influence even during his time in the military.
